A milk sucking monster with equal taste in human blood and one of the more weird creatures we have spoken of so far. This creature comes from Icelandic folklore and is described as a bloated thin creature with a mouth on each end.
This creature, created through magic, most often by women to help them in daily chores and steal milk from their neighbor. The one who sought its creation got himself a piece of rib from hallowed ground and kept it close to their chest, wrapped inside grey wool. The next step speaks of going to mass where the creator must spit hallowed wine upon the rib, at least three times. From this a tilberi would be born and the tilberi‘s mother or father, as their creator was called, would wrap the snake like creature around their chest and allow them to suck their blood from a fresh wound.
The tilberi was born to wander of and suck the milk from cows, quite often without the owner’s consent. They were rumored to have returned to their mothers and said something like „My stomach is full mother. “ The creator would reply, „then hurl in the churn, son“. The creature would then deposit its milk through the window where it would come out as readymade butter, although loose and not tasteful at all. Some say if a person where to make a cross with their fingers in that butter, it would sputter all over the place as if possessed.
The tilberi was also inherited from mother to daughter or son to father, the creature going on to serve its new owner. One woman is said to have inherited such a creature but did not care for it. She ordered it to go to the local sheep pastures and count each and every dropping it found and collect them into three piles. The creature was later found dead from exhaustion.
This creature can be called as strange as it is fascinating without question. Keep track of us and we will share stories of similar creatures and things. Perhaps even stranger!
